Something I have been working on

Next to Kairos Coffee House I also work with Kairos Traders.
Kairos Traders exists to promote social enterprises by telling their stories and selling their products and services. We serve these businesses by being a sales platform for them here in the States. The more products we sell, the more people can come out of exploitation and work for these enterprises.  From our profits we will offer 0% interest loans to new social enterprise startups and soon we will offer our first loan to a catering business in Nepal.

To step it up a notch we are now launching an online store. With the online store we can reach a lot more people and make them aware of the good work these businesses do.
To start the store we need inventory. We are launching a Kickstarter campaign where you can buy single products or bundles from these businesses and we will use the money to buy inventory for our online store.

One of our new partners is a business called Sak Saum. The owner used to be part of our base and now started a business in Cambodia. I love Sak Saum because they start at the beginning with preventing and providing a safe place.
Because people with backgrounds of exploitation have often shut down the creative areas in their brains, the freedom to be creative is transformative.
Sak Saum uses overstock & second-hand fabric to buttons made from coconut shells, and wallets & purses made of repurposed tire & cement bags. They take something discarded and make it beautiful. When the designers teach the employees how to make a wallet out of an old tire they remind them that there is nothing God can’t redeem.
He takes the very things we thought disqualified us and uses them to display His love, power, and redemption to the world.

It has been quite a journey trying to launch the campaign but it is finally here.
The first 5 days are going to be a “soft” start and then we will bring it to the public and promote it!

You can help us by going to our kickstarter page and pledge in those first 5 days so we have some momentum. (click on last sentence)  Different pledges will give you different rewards so shop freely! (see the photos in this post)
